Here’s an interesting little fact about Chris Huhne that I thought I’d share with you. The cabinet Minister responsible for the Department of Energy and Climate Change, made 63 bookings via the Government Car and Despatch Agency between September 2010 and June 2011. That means Chris Huhne undertook 63 ministerial car pool journeys, complete with an unspecified driver, during a 10 month period.
OK. Fair enough. Perhaps he was busy going about his Cabinet Office duties then. So … how many of those ‘essential’ trips, that the tax payers’ have to pay for, actually involved him carrying the ‘red box’ of his ministerial position?
Ha! Nice to see that Chris Huhne is doing his bit to reduce carbon emissions then.
If there is something that really annoys people it’s seeing politicians swanning around in chauffeur-driven cars like they’re the Royal Family. In these economic times, when everyone is making their own sacrifice, this number (of official cars) cannot be justified. So the Conservatives will cut the budget for official government cars by a third.

Oh, and the CPS will make announcement at 10am tomorrow (Friday) about whether Chris Huhne will be prosecuted over the dodgy speeding points debacle … or not. Fingers crossed then but I won’t be holding my breath ;-)
