JailBait Jonny ++ Updated ++

In an observation, totally unrelated to the news that Caroline Spelman MP tried to obtain a super injunction for her son, I see that Jonny Spelman appears to like Jailbait. “fucking love this” says the England U18 rugby player in a comment left on the Facebook page, back in August of last year. I hardly think that was the reason for the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to go running to the privacy court last Saturday, so maybe there are other rumours about Jonny Spelman that the Daily Star on Sunday are keen to publish then.

Who cares? I don’t. It’s just another classic case of the rich and powerful trying to prevent their dirty linen from being aired in public. More a case of who the parents are, rather than what a fit young rugby player has been getting up to. Anyway, just for fun, here’s another Jonny Spelman comment on Facebook that drew my attention. Considering his surname, I found it rather amusing to see that his grammar and spelling aren’t all that ….

Jailbait Jonny Spelman Facebook page super injunction rumours caroline spelman daily star rugby

Whatever would mummy think. Still, at least he seems to be following in the footsteps as far as scrounging something for nothing is concerned. All that money and upbringing.  Hey … maybe that’s what the super injunction rumours are all about. Caroline Spelman is just plain embarrassed by her son’s antics on Facebook. Super injunctions have been taken out for a lot less … I would imagine.

+++ UPDATE +++

I see the first Facebook page has now been edited and the second has disappeared.
Thank goodness for screen grabs,eh ;-)

+++ UPDATE +++

I thought I’d follow up a couple of the links that have been left in the comments and it appears that Jonny Spelman has been quite active on the body building muscle forums. Under the his twitter name of spelmanjm the rising England schoolboy rugby player has even been posting photos of himself in various body building type poses.

Pretty impressive. Especially when you consider that Jonny is only 17 years old. Apparently, he also posted a video of himself on YouTube where he was seen doing body builder type poses in a school shirt. That now appears to have been ‘deleted by the user‘. Now … I’m no expert on the risks of using steroids and drugs, to aid the development of muscle tone, but 15 years old seems a tad young to be boosting your testosterone levels. In fact … is it even legal for a young teenager to be taking steroids?

Jonny Spelman body builder forum steroids M1T rugby drugs test super injunction muscle photo image

However, one thing I do know for sure is that Jonny must be an excellent young rugby player. I see that one Jonathan Spelman has been selected for the England U16 Rugby Union training squad, in preparation for upcoming international fixtures against Italy and Wales. Quite an achievement.

Leaving aside the fact the RFU have a strict anti-doping policy and failing a drugs test for banned substances would be considered cheating, surely Jonny Spelman’s parents would be responsible enough to ensure that a strict regime was being followed to prevent long term, permanent damage being inflicted on such a young body. Liver or kidney damage for example. I’ve even heard that taking body building steroids can thicken the blood to such an extent that regular blood transfusions may be required.

Sheesh.

I assumed that Caroline Spelman was aware that young Jonny has been taking delivery of steroids and body building drugs but having seen this tweet from his brother … I’m not so sure :

Jonny Spelman body builder steroids tweet twitter rugby drugs super injunction muscle photo image

Anyway, is any of this really in the public interest? I suspect that if it wasn’t for the fact that a Conservative Cabinet Minister, Caroline Spelman, had run to the court in an attempt to obtain a super injunction, which resulted in the inevitable Barbara Streisand effect … it probably wouldn’t have been.

I have no idea what the resulting privacy injunction actually covers, I haven’t seen it. All I’ve done is to take a look at some of the information that is readily available in the public domain … so I guess I’ll leave it to a media scrum [sic] to find out what the real story is.

  2. Why is everyone having a go at Jonny? This story would not get anywhere near the papers if his mother didn’t happen to be an MP. He doesn’t deserve any of the stick he is getting, especially as none of you people know him.

    • George, old boy, do try to grow up a little …

It’s precisely because his MP mother sought an injunction in the first place that the story became of public interest ..

If his mother had worked in Gregg’s Bakers, no-one would have been in the least bit interested & she wouldn’t have sought an injunction to quash the story ..

The antics of Ministers, MP’s and their families are of interest to the public .. and if Mrs Spelman can’t handle that fact .. there’s always Gregg’s .. ;)

      • The reason why she tried to take out the injunction is because someone leaked the story to the papers. If the story gets out, it could ruin the boy’s chances of ever being taken seriously in life. Take that chip off your shoulder and except that he is just a boy, regardless of whether his Mum works in Greggs or the cabinet.

      • So your problem is with the parent’s imposing the super injunction, and yet you still criticise the him? I played cricket against him when I was younger and he looked like this at 15.

Don’t get me wrong, the super injunction is not right, I agree with you there . Miss. Spelman, unfortunately from her point of view needs to accept that public visibility and transparency is part of the package in her particular job description.

However, with regards to what he has done, and his use of BANNED supplements (note stress on banned) it was stupid, but Bodybuilding isn’t IAAF regulated because of how the sport has filtered out of the U.S and if that is what he loves and what to succeed in, perhaps it is inevitable that he would take that route as so many others have and still do. I also note cycling.

Lastly, don’t have a go at him for ‘scrounging’ because all athletes look for sponsorship and honestly it is more a sign of recognition. Besides, it doesn’t hurt to ask and he wasn’t demanding anything. People do it all the time with other things its just that when it comes to someone who appears and is, more financially fortunate it becomes morally unacceptable?

case in point, at the Age of 18, James Haskell took a year out to get ‘bigger’ to pursue his rugby career with suspiciously exponential results whilst he was not affiliated with a club and hence could not be checked for substances. People think he is a superstar within English Rugby Circles.

People do what they can to get ahead, he is no different.

  3. With a supreme effort of will, by really stretching the old memory synapses to their utmost, I can just a-b-o-u-t remember the name ‘Caroline Spelman’ cropping up at some point or other. Beyond that, I know absolutely nothing about the chap… ;)

Certainly know nothing of any progeny and, upon inspecting my ennui-meter, I find that I couldn’t give a flying fuck either way. If he is indeed guilty of the remarks attributed to him then he is as thick and objectionable as at least half of the yoof of today.

If I sound a tad irritable it’s because my blood alcohol level has fallen to a dangerous low and I am reluctant to broach my remaining bottle of Pusser’s without a reasonable excuse…

  4. Well the sense of self-entitlement is no surprise, but I’d give the lad a break over the jailbait bit. It’s a difficult age to be a young bloke. Almost all the birds who’d be prepared to shag you are untouchably under 16, but your homones are firing on all cylinders. What are you going to do? No one thinks it the least bit odd that a married couple might have an age difference of 3 years, but a 18 year old youth dating a 15 year old girl is playing with fire. Not saying it’s right for such a lad to fuck an underage girl, of course, just a difficult time to be a young fellow as I’m sure we can all remember (in my case only just, though:)).

  20. There is a huge public interest in any story surrounding anabolic steroids and drugs in sport. I am just posting this message here in a sort of unrelated-to-Jonny sort of way …

Let us assume that a competitive athlete, who participates in a sport with mandatory drug testing, takes drugs. Now, let us assume that for some reason, perhaps a posting on this website, that athlete is investigated and found to have doped.

Does serving a ban from the said competitive sport really make amends? Probably not. One of the curiosities to emerge from the East German doping program is that performance levels rarely fall back to pre-doping levels. In other words, once you have doped, you have an ever-lasting post-doping advantage.

There is a public interest in debating this stuff.

Secondly, I have looked at the cycle that the person posting on the doping forum is discussing. Jeeeeez, is all I can say.

By the time this person was 16, in his own words, he had completed a ‘cycle’ (course) involving Winstrol (same drug Ben Johnson was caught using at Seoul). He then graduated to the harder core testosterone enanthate (injectible synthetic testosterone) and Dianabol (in simple terms the GDR drug of choice) (17-alpha-alkylated steroid or methandrostenolone).

My advice for any jailbait fancying the life out of this guy is to get to him quickly, because when he’s older, he’s likely to be fat. Maybe he has thought of this and hopes the HCG will help him lose weight. Or maybe he is using it to mop up excess estrogen … of which he will have a lot.

You see, excess testosterone aromatizes, or converts, into estrogen. And that can lead to men growing a pair that could challenge Jordan. Yep, the stuff you take to make you more of a man can in fact make you more of a woman.

I’m surprised that he’s thinking of moving on to testosterone proprionate, perhaps as a bridging therapy to maintain his gains until he next takes a gaining cycle, when he hasn’t made any mention of Sustanon as a basis for his next cycle. Not that I’m encouraging him, of course. And frankly this chappie needs no encouragement from me.

Two things worry me here, and they are unlikely to be addressed by a superinjunction.

First, this man is talking about “serious gains”. Few of us would dispute that he has already made such gains. But inside that big man is a young boy with what might look to some of us like a form of reverse anorexia.

Secondly, when he feels that the anabolics no longer work, he’ll be on to harder stuff … all you need is one sponsorship deal and in no time at all you’ll be on to the undetectable growth hormone. Don’t.

    I noticed this bit:

“In his ruling, Mr Justice Tugendhat said that his decision not to continue the injunction until any trial – which would not be before May – was not a “licence” to Express Newspapers or anyone else to publish whatever they chose, or indeed anything at all.”

So is Jonny Spelman going to be on trial, meaning he’s been charged with an offence? I haven’t seen that anywhere.

    • Anonymous coward

Dear William, I for my part was being somewhat more generous in spirit than you were by not calling our esteemed environment secretary a liar … however, I am prepared to meet you halfway.

What struck me as odd about her statement was the notion that Jonny ‘juiced’, as they say, in order to recuperate from a knee injury.

Funny things those knee injuries, and so too is the squat exercise. So much so, in fact, that they are mutually incompatible.

Squats put a huge amount of strain on knees, especially if you have bad form. In fact, by my recollection, they are the one exercise you would want to avoid if you were to have a bad knee.

Perhaps Caroline would explain how you squat 180Kg with a bad knee …

I’m not going to call her a liar, but I do think her statement is open to challenge.

      • If this had dragged on, Jonny Spelman might have been asked on oath in court if he took steroids before September 2011. The official line taken by the Spelmans is that he took them following a leg injury in September 2011. This is difficult to square with some of the evidence that people have found on the web.

Anyway, give Jonny a break now. The real issue is that the Spelmans spent a hundred grand trying to suppress a minor news story, and succeeded only in drawing more attention to it.

To me he is a vulnerable adolescent, who had the great misfortune to have parents in the public eye. To go for the parents through such a vulnerable minor is the despicable action of a person who doesn’t deserve the accolade of scumbag.

JS has already managed to substantially trash his rugby achievements with a 3 year ban. He should be left to clean up his act away from the hypocritical tut tutting of the sewer press and the casual destructive gossip of pathetic cyberbullies.
